Great Moments in shoe history: when Susan Cutts sculpted shoes
These shoes are the art work of Susan Cutts, a British artist who creates sculptures out of paper. Interestingly, she didn’t study fine art in college; she studied constructed textiles at the London College of Furniture, and also received a diploma in theatrical corsetry from the London College of Fashion. Wow.
I studied shoe design in London about a million years ago, but for various reasons never worked as a designer. Recently I decided to focus my obsession with shoes into a website that would provide information about independent shoe designers and retailers.
